Friday night at the New York State Fair - I never slow down and rarely take time off, but how can you pass up the chance to spend an evening with a beautiful girl when she asks so nicely? We had a great time, bumping into neighbors, friends, former students, and fans. We even made our way to Chevy Court when we heard a sweet Country voice wafting in the breeze. It was Canadian, Josh Ross and his band. They put on a solid show full of his hits, yes he’s had a few. And a bunch of very familiar covers. It wasn’t a big crowd, but he did a great job warming them with up with his style and affable personality. Check him out. He’s got what it takes to climb.
We ate Fair food and had a few adult beverages. Which is a very good thing, as our last adventure of the night was a ride on the gondola. Ya know, for a guy who loves flying airplanes, I have a fear of heights. No clue why. I just do. You can probably see the terror in my eyes. I was shaking so much, that Wanny had to take the photo with my phone.
Happy Labor Day Weekend, everyone. Please enjoy it with family and friends. On Tuesday, I start the Fall Semester at Le Moyne College. I do not think of myself as a professor, but I keep my hand in it enough to stay tapped into America’s youth. I learn as much from them as they learn from me.
My next album, the Soundtrack to the Artist and the Astronaut, is being released in two weeks. I will keep you posted.
