JOURNAL 201208 – This morning at 7:55 AM Mark lost his battle with COVID-19. My heart aches for Katie. My sweet and wonderful daughter-in-law must shoulder much of the burden as to what comes next. Her dad left us way too soon and suddenly.

Our family is hurting. It seems like the hard truths keep raining down upon us. This brings to four the number of family members and friends who have died in recent weeks. My dear friends, Dr. Steve Zdep and Dr. Jerry Exline. My mother-in-law, Joan Masucci, and now Mark.

We will grieve. We will deal with all of this as a family. I can’t imagine what life would be without family and friends. God has a plan. We don’t know how that plan is going to play out, but we do know that he gave us each other. It is in these relationships where we find comfort. Love is still the answer.
